The Alkaline diet became popular back when Victoria Beckham tweeted about the alkaline cookbook in January 2013 claiming that this diet can help you lose weight and avoid major health problems by avoiding dairy, eggs, meat, most grains, and processed foods, like canned and packaged snacks, convenience foods, all the while consuming more fruits and vegetables soybeans, tofu, some nuts, seeds, and legumes.

We haven’t acquired enough evidence based on randomized control study to support that the alkaline diet helps your body to maintain its blood pH level, however, the foods you're supposed to eat on the alkaline diet are better and will help support a healthy life style. Lots of fruits,vegetables, plenty of water; avoiding sugar, alcohol, and processed foods is a wise weight-loss advice.
