Acne is the most common skin condition in the United States, affecting millions Americans annually leading to the formation of acne scars, which may have a negative psychological impact on social life and relationships.
Acne scars can be treated in a number of ways with significant improvement by utilizing multiple techniques such as as chemical peels, dermabrasion/microdermabrasion, laser treatment, subcision techniques, fat grafting, PRP Treatments, Mesotherapy, Microneedling, and combined therapies.
At SD Medical Arts we are offering the most advanced, safe, and effective model – SD PRP ACNE SCAR TREATMENT – utilizing the organic resources of our own body to enhance the texture and vitality of person's skin.
To obtain the best results possible, our comprehensive multistep organic model includes the following steps:
FIRST STEP – SUBCISION
Acne Scar subcision is done using our signature cannula to break the fibrous bands of scar tissue that are creating tension between the epidermis and deeper structures.
SECOND STEP – FAT TRANSFER
Fat Transfer is used to elevate depressed acne scars and normalize the contour where residual scar attachments impede this. Fat cells are removed by manual liposuction from the donor area – usually from around the navel or from the thighs or buttocks – using a small cannula attached to a syringe. The fat cells are purified using the PureGraft System, and then injected under the scar area using a blunt cannula and syringe.
THIRD STEP – PRP TREATMENT
PRP Treatment with Microneedling is performed which will dramatically increase new collagen and elastin fibers. Generally, it takes least three months to see the full effect of the treatment with improvement in skin texture and appearance for over a 15-month period.
FOUTH STEP – RF TECHNOLOGY
Matrix-tunable radiofrequency technology is used as a final step to smooth and tighten the skin appearance, with a 50%-80% improvement typically seen. Results appear gradually: immediate transient improvement can be noticed after each treatment. The number of treatment sessions typically varies between 3 and 4 sessions, onceevery 4–6 weeks. The final results are usually evaluated and analyzed in 2-4 months after last treatment session.
Most patients can return to work within 24 hours after the treatment. Patients may experience swelling, bruising, redness and/or possible scabbing in the treatment area. Patients will be required to take antibiotics following the procedure. A follow-up appointment will be necessary to monitor progress and to determine if additional treatments are necessary.
Most treatments can reduce the size and visibility of acne scars, making them barely noticeable*.
