ABOUT PROCEDURE
What is a breast lift?

Breast lift surgery is simply the lifting and reshaping of your breast skin and tissue to achieve a firmer look and feel. A breast lift alone does not add volume, though it can be performed in conjunction with Breast Augmentation with Implants or Fat Transfer Surgery for further enhancement of the shape and size of the breasts.

Is a breast lift right for me?

Breast lift surgery is the best option for women who are happy with the size of their breasts, but not the appearance of saggy breasts due to aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding or significant weight loss leaving excess skin or decrease in elasticity. While the size of the breasts may not have changed, the droopiness can produce a flattened or deflated look of the breasts.

HOW IS THE PROCEDURE DONE
How is a breast lift performed?
Section V first picture for Breast Lift

Your breast lift surgery is performed by making a series of incisions on the breast and around the areola tailored to your own unique needs and goals. Pulling the breast tissue up and repositioning the nipple and areola higher on the breast creates a lifting effect and addresses the size or appearance of your areola and nipple. As a result of the precise and artistic performance of the Breast Lift Surgery, you we will achieve lifted, reshaped and more youthful breasts with improved contour and firmness.

How long does a breast lift take?

The breast lift surgery takes on average 3-3.5 hours and is performed at the specialized surgical centers in either Long Island or Manhattan.

RECOVERY
How long does recovery take?

You will be sore and stiff especially during first 2-3 days after the surgery; therefore, we strongly recommend to rest at home and be very careful to avoid straining, lifting, or running. You should be able to start exercising again within 10-14 days.

Q&A / QUESTIONS AND SD ANSWERS

Q: What cup size will my new breasts be after having the breast lift surgery?
A: Cup size will be determined by how much lift is needed. In theory, one should not lose any breast volume with a lift as no breast tissue is removed. Only skin is removed and tightened and the nipple moved upward in a breast lift. But there is often a perception that the breast does seem smaller as the surface area of the total breast is reduced through the skin removal. What most women expect from a breast lift is to have not only an uplifted breast, but one with more upper pole fullness as well.
Q: Will I need an implant?
A: The answer ultimately depends on one’s individual needs and goals; but, in general, the answer is no. Breast lift surgery and breast augmentation are two completely different procedures and while the combination of the two treatments may be necessary to meet one person’s goals, a breast lift alone may be enough to yield satisfactory results in others.
Q: How long will I be out of work?
A: Full recovery following a breast lift is usually between 4 and 6 weeks for healing, but returning to exercise can be as early as 10 days.
Q: What scars will result from the procedure?
A: It’s not unusual for patients who undergo breast lift surgery to be concerned about scarring. When a Wise Pattern Breast Lift is performed, the keyhole pattern is used above the level of the nipple areola complex. The nipple areola is then moved in an upward direction into the keyhole and the excess skin is removed below this point. This typically leaves the patient with a circular scar around the areola, a vertical incision that runs from the areola to the transverse incision, which is hidden beneath the fold of the breast.
Q: Do I still get mammograms?
A: Yes. Mammograms are necessary for routine breast screening.
