“Nature gives you the face at 20. It’s up to you to merit the face you have at 50.” You’ll be unique, natural in appearance and shine in your own way with Dr Svetlana M. Danovich - Cosmetic Surgical Artist!
A facelift is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin from the face, jawline and neck, tightening the underlining sagging muscles in order to re-drape the tissue to a higher position. This invasive facial enhancement is a fusion of true art and science.
A facelift (rhytidectomy) is a procedure to reduce the most visible signs of aging by removing excess skin, tightening underlying sagging muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck. The surgery is geared to restore a more youthful appearance of your face for many years to come by correcting a sagging neck line, removing the deposit of fat along the jaw line, and lifting the corners of your mouth. We cannot stop the aging process, but we can restore the divine proportion of your face and neck in order to look naturally immaculate and rejuvenated.
Commonly, men and women between the ages of 45 and 70 with sagging under the chin, jowling, and prominent deep lines are great candidates for Facelift Surgery.
Is there any required preparation before Facelift surgery?
Since your facelift is an extensive surgical procedure, you must follow all outlined SD pre-operative guidelines. Blood-thinning medication such as aspirin, Plavix and Advil®/ Aleve® or ibuprofen must be stopped 14 days before and after surgery. You will be required to quit smoking four weeks before and after the procedure to optimize healing process. You will be advised taking The Arnika Forte™ four days before and after surgery to reduce bruising, swelling and redness occurring from the intervention.
At SD Medical Arts, we are paying more attention to the deeper layers of the face which are affected by age and gravity. Incisions are usually starting above the hairline at the temples, extending into a natural line inside the cartilage at the front of your ear, and continuing behind the earlobe to the lower portion of the scalp. Facial skin is lifted from underline tissue, fat is trimmed and/or repositioned, involved muscles are tightened, and excess skin is removed. For the neck enhancement, a small incision is made under the chin to tighten the neck in most elegant and aesthetically appealing way following the Golden Ratio Rules in the restoration of the divine proportions of the face without a “pulled” appearance or “overdone” unnatural look.
How long is the facelift procedure?
Facelift surgery takes approximately 3-4 hours at the ambulatory certified surgical facility.
The following morning, all dressings are removed in our office. Most patients have no pain after a facelift, while others describe the pain as minimal. There may be mild to moderate bruising and swelling for approximately one week which is significantly less with the use of the Arnika Forte™. Majority of patients return to work and social activities within two weeks after surgery
Facelift cosmetic procedures are very safe but cannot exclude the minimal risk of poor scarring, nerve damage, infection, or bleeding.
Patients experiencing any concerning symptoms are advised to call Dr. Danovich’s cell phone promptly.
Facelift results* are instantaneous; however, just after the procedure you will notice some initial bruising and swelling that will subside over the course of 7 to 10 days. Your skin will feel much smoother and tighter.
